Fire Engineer

We’re looking for a fire engineer to play a vital role in delivering fire safety projects to our clients

PartB is recruiting a fire engineer to play a vital part in the technical side of the business.  The role manages and delivers fire engineering projects to clients. You'll present findings  through reports and also peer review reports from other members of the technical team. 

Main Duties 

  • Deliver and manage fire engineering projects. 
  • Provide fire risk assessments to a wide range of structures and risk groups
  • Presentation of findings, reports and workshops. 
  • Complete fee quotes, PQQ and ITT submissions for fire safety tenders. 
  • Work individually and part of a team to win or deliver projects. 
  • Work directly with clients in an outward facing role. 
  • Ensure projects are suitably invoiced. 
  • Promote and ensure technical excellence. 
  • Attend client meetings and provide fee proposals as required. 
  • Responsible for the promotion of quality throughout the company.
  • Provide technical guidance and provide advice for clients as appropriate. 
  • Provide technical advice to employees and associates of the company.
  • Represent the company on technical and policy steering groups/committees.
  • Support ISO 9001.2015 readiness. 

What we ask for 

  • MSc Fire Engineering degree or BEng/BSc degree. 
  • FIFireE/FRM Accreditation. 
  • IEng/application in process. 
  • Typically 2+ years' experience in a consultancy or similar environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of UK fire safety legislation and standards.
  • Clear understanding of the total fire concept - from client brief through to  construction and operation. 
  • Development and implementation of fire strategies, projects and research initiatives.
  • Possess excellent report writing and communication skills - be collaborative, creative and engaging. 
  • Ability to multi-task- you will be required to work on multiple projects concurrently, juggling multiple demands.  
  • Proven ability to work remotely both individually and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to develop a network of clients and colleagues at PartB and outside the company. 
  • Understand and manage the scope and relevant programme constraints of projects.
  • Excellent time management skills.  
  • Flexible and adaptable during company growth.
