Pete Wise joins the team!
We are delighted to welcome Pete Wise on board as Technical Director.
Pete is an incredibly well respected engineer having originally worked in London Fire Brigade, being responsible for the delivery of fire safety policy. He has gained significant commercial experience working as a director for BB7 and the principal consultant at the Fire Protection Association.
Pete brings a wealth of experience from working in HM Government where he was the fire safety expert for Sir Ken Knight, the Chief Fire and Rescue Advisor. He provided advice on fire safety and firefighting to Ministers, civil servants and other stakeholder groups. His advice also included the drafting of determinations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, on behalf of the Secretary of State.
He was advisor for major fire investigations including Lakanal House, Shirley Towers and provided expert advice for a commercial party during phase 1 of the Grenfell inquiry.
During his time at HM Government, Peter was also responsible for the Crown Premises Inspection Team which enforces fire regulations and gives advice to government departments on fire safety in government and crown owned/occupied buildings..
Through his career Peter has been actively involved in developing standards. He was actively involved in producing BS 9999:2008 and BS 9991:2011, as well other
guidance documents on the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. He also
helped draft the Article 24 Regulations for Sub Surface Railways which were
introduced with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
We are absolutely thrilled to have Pete leading and continually improving the technical ability of Part B. He is an asset to the team and we look forward to the next chapter.
