We're looking for a fire consultant to join our team.

You'll deliver fire risk assessments for a variety of residential and commercial buildings, contributing to the consulting output in this client-facing role. Reporting to the Associate of Fire Risk Management, you are integral to the delivery of quality throughout the FRM department.

You’ll also work with our site team to conduct intrusive investigations, and liaise with clients and manage your own FRM projects.

You'll have a BEng/BSc degree for 3 years, or minimum Level 3 certificate in fire safety, plus 1-3 years' experience in a consultancy or similar environment.

This role is UK-based but you will be required to travel with the occasional overnight.  

Main Duties 

  • Deliver fire risk management projects appropriate to clients
  • Carry out site visits, and create fire risk assessments for a wide range of structures and risk groups
  • Provide services in line with technical policy and guidance notes
  • Work as part of a team to win or deliver projects
  • Attend client meetings and provide fee proposals
  • Promote and ensure technical excellence within the company
  • Understand and manage the scope and relevant programme constraints of a project

Key Skills and Requirements

  • IFE Membership/FRM Accreditation
  • Good knowledge and experience of UK fire safety legislation and standards
  • Clear understanding of the total fire concept - from client brief through to construction and operation
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, working to deadlines and juggling multiple demands
  • Excellent time management
  • Proven ability to work remotely both individually and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to maintain a network of clients/colleagues both within and out with the business
