BS 9999 Training

This course provides individuals tasked assessing with submissions or documents against BS 9999 with an overview of that document. It should allow them to understand the recommendations and help them follow and apply the guidance contained within the document. We aim to make this course as flexible to our delegates’ needs as possible. Guidance documents referenced: BS 9999, ADB Volume 2. By the end of the course you'll be able to:

  • Explain the scope of the document
  • Describe the risk profile of a premises
  • Use the risk profile above to assess a minimum package of fire safety measures
  • Apply reasonable alterations to the means of escape using enhanced fire safety measures
  • Apply the guidance from the compartmentation tables from the document
  • Outline some of the differences in access and facilities for fire and rescue services recommended by the document from those in ADB

Fire Safety in Specialised Housing

Through this course, we aim to help individuals understand the recommendations of the safety guides and enable them to follow and apply the guidance contained within the documents. On completion, you'll be able to: 

  • Explain the term 'specialised housing' and describe the various types of accommodation covered in the documents
  • Describe typical evacuation strategies and the facilities that support those strategies

This course aims to provide individuals with an overview of some elements contained in BS 9251, specifically covering recommendations for water supplies, duration of operation, coverage, enhancements and power supplies. It will help you understand the recommendations and enable you to follow and apply the guidance contained within the document. Key learnings include: 

  • Locate, understand and apply the recommendations for sprinkler specification contained in BS 9251
  • Locate, understand and apply the recommendations for water supply duration and power supplies contained in BS 9251
  • Locate, understand and apply the guidance covering calculations and positioning recommendations contained within BS 9251
  • Use the guidance contained within BS 9251 to amend general recommendations in line with the guidance

PAS 9980 Training

PAS 9980 is used to inform the fire risk assessment of the building, so becomes a key part of the Fire Safety Act and very likely the building safety bill. Our popular, comprehensive course will outline the key elements of the guidance that you need to be made aware of and our trainers will answer any questions you may have. Key learnings include:
