Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DoE
Fire Engineers manage and deliver fire engineering projects to clients. You'll present findings through reports and also peer review reports from other members of the technical team, playing a vital part in the technical side of the business.
You will provide fire engineering input as part of a collaborative team on projects locally, nationally and internationally. You will be expected to implement and investigate appropriate legislation and design guidance for use on your projects, while learning to understand the total fire engineering concept: from the client brief through to construction and operation. You will be expected to receive and manage various tasks delegated to you by your Line Manager and take a lead role in project management responsibilities on projects and research initiatives, while learning about business development and building a network of colleagues both internally and externally.
It is anticipated that you will work to raise the commercial profile of the Fire Engineering practice, both internally and externally, by promoting the PartB innovative approach and excellent level of delivery and client care.
You will have a minimum of a degree in a fire engineering discipline with ideally 2 years' fire engineering design experience within a reputable UK-based fire engineering consultancy. A comprehensive understanding and the ability to competently demonstrate the previous application of UK fire design guidance/codes is essential.
You need to be a confident, strong communicator with the ability to make decisions as you will not only be dealing with clients on a daily basis, but other construction professionals, colleagues and peers via all modes of communication, including phone and video conferencing, email and in person.
