HR Assistant

We're looking for a UK-based HR assistant to join our operations team.
Salary: £26,500 - £29,000 DoE

The HR Assistant helps coordinate the employee requirements of the business. Responsibilities typically include maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment processes, scheduling interviews, handing onboarding and offboarding procedures, and responding to basic employee inquiries.

 Main Duties

  • Assisting with the recruitment process - including posting to job sites, social marketing, vetting candidates, assisting with interviews and issuing employment contracts
  • New starter administration - including issuing job offer letters, contracts and arranging IT equipment delivery (many of our employees work from home)
  • Starter and leaver administration, including responding to reference requests
  • Maintaining and updating employee records on the HR system in line with GDPR compliance, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Liaise with finance, prepare financial reports and assist with payroll
  • Manage and administer employee benefits
  • Assist with any ad hoc HR projects
  • Providing administrative support with contract updates and amendments
  • Employee data audits
  • Support ISO 9001.2015 readiness and ongoing audits

 Key Skills  & Requirements

  • Ideally some HR experience: While not essential, a foundational understanding or experience in Human Resources or Employee Relations would be a strong advantage
  • Ideally CIPD Level 3 Qualified or working towards
  • Excellent organisational skills: You can manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and pay close attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and strong IT skills – you’ll be expected to learn and work with a variety of programs
  • Recruitment skills and experience highly desired
  • Personable, outgoing and able to build relationships quickly
  • Strong, confident communicator and great listener
  • Exceptional discretion and confidentiality: You understand the critical importance of handling sensitive employee and HR information with the utmost care and professionalism
  • Proactive attitude in solving problems
  • Team player
