PartB Fire Testing is Go

PartB is excited to announce a brand new service – PartB Fire Testing.

From state-of-the-art facilities in the Midlands, and in partnership with the FPA, we now offer independent fire-resistance testing for bespoke solutions or retrospective assurance for existing installations and details. We specialise in complex and bespoke testing, backed by decades of engineering know-how.

We anticipate PartB Fire Testing will be of special interest to contractors who may not be sure if their materials comply, and to expert witnesses, for reassurance of their expert opinion. Through this service, we hope to help our clients save on massive remediation costs and provide full assurance of safety and compliance.

We aim to provide clear communication, quick turnarounds and good availability of testing. We are currently working to 2-weeks' turnaround from testing to report, and are working to reduce this even further - one of our recent tests was completed in just 10 days.

Jamie Davies, PartB Group Chief Technical Officer leads this new service and said:

'From our state-of-the-art, UKAS-approved facilities in the Midlands, and in conjunction with our partners at the Fire Protection Association, we will offer testing of existing installations or details to help confirm that materials are working as they should. Understanding fire safety principles goes far beyond analysing fire materials. It’s no accident that many of our senior staff were once operational firefighters or industry regulators; we come from practical ‘real world’ backgrounds, and investigative, operational and consultative roles, where fire behaviour and application of fire safety principles on a practical level is key. We aim to provide quick turnarounds, good availability of testing and a raft of fire engineering expertise to support ‘out of the norm’ tests which other test houses simply do not understand.'
