Joe Taylor

Joe has more than 15 years’ experience in the fire safety & engineering sector, having started out as an operational aviation firefighter.

Joe specialises in risk management for large, multi-site organisations.

Working with clients to provide and implement solutions in a structured, risk-based manner, Joe has a wealth of experience writing and auditing both invasive and non-invasive external wall surveys and fire risk assessments. He also has an in-depth knowledge of the application and management of fire safety legislation.

Experience

Joe has previously worked as an engineer, consultant and a fire safety manager within Ei Group PLC. Here he provided primary authority management and fire engineering advice to a variety of premises and organisations. 

As a specialist for large, multi-site organisations, Joe can project manage and deliver complex fire risk management and fire risk assessment programmes. He has an extensive understanding of working to PAS 7/BS 9997 Fire Risk Management system specification, as well as passive and active fire safety systems.

Joe’s key skills and capabilities include developing robust strategies for complex buildings, carrying out audits during construction, external façade analysis, compartmentation surveys and managing liaisons with enforcing authorities – to name but a few.

Previous experience includes external façade analysis and EWS1 reviews for developers such as Lendlease, Crest Nicholson, Taylor Wimpey and Bellway, as well as carrying out a diligence fire safety survey for the acquisition of ITV studios in London. He provided fire safety advice and strategy to AECOM, where he was involved in a number of projects that included councils, universities and banks. 

Joe operates across the UK and Ireland offering extensive expertise and insight to a wide variety of clients from just about every sector.
